MAGGIE
Meet PURPLE TOP DAISY MAGGIE, or simply “Maggie” as we call her around the barn.
This mare looks like she stepped straight out of a Disney movie. Maggie is every bit as majestic, elegant, and regal as the horses you see on the big screen. Standing a solid 16.2 hands, she has substantial bone, sturdy conformation, and the kind of presence that turns heads everywhere she goes. Covered from head to toe in beautiful deep dapples and topped off with a flowing snow-white mane and tail, Maggie is truly breathtaking.
Maggie is registered with the Percheron Horse Association of America and boasts impressive bloodlines, including M.G.’s Prince, Pleasant View Emperor, and Brookside Daisy, just to name a few. Born in 2018, she is in the prime of her life and ready for her next adventure.
If there is one word to describe Maggie, it is sensible. She is as steady and dependable as the day is long in absolutely every situation. On the trails, she is happy riding alone or in a group. She quietly walks along taking in the scenery, willingly trots out when asked, and has one of the smoothest, most rhythmic canters you’ll find in a horse of her size.
Maggie is unfazed by wildlife, water crossings, wooded trails, traffic, bicycles, and even the occasional smoke bomb. Obstacles simply don’t bother her. She approaches new situations with confidence and a calm, willing attitude that makes her a pleasure to ride.
In the arena, Maggie is equally impressive. She has excellent self-carriage, moves beautifully off seat and leg cues, and is responsive without being overly sensitive.
Her resume doesn’t stop under saddle. Maggie is an accomplished driving horse with extensive experience in harness. She has pulled everything from a Cinderella carriage to a vis-à-vis carriage through busy cities, parades, weddings, and princess parties. In our video, you’ll even see a 6-year-old confidently holding the lines—proof of just how trustworthy and forgiving she truly is. Whether you’re looking to learn to drive or simply enjoy the occasional carriage ride, Maggie is the perfect partner.
Maggie has also spent time teaching beginner riding lessons. She is patient with inexperienced riders, forgiving of mistakes, and gentle with children. At the same time, she is sturdy enough to comfortably carry larger riders. She has participated in parades, carried flags, and handled every job asked of her with grace and reliability.
Truthfully, horses like Maggie are incredibly difficult to find and nearly impossible to replace. If horse sales weren’t such a large part of our program, she would never leave. She is the kind of horse that earns a permanent place in your heart.
I could go on and on about this exceptional mare, but her video tells her story even better than words ever could.
